Lunchtime Talk: Nicholaa de la Haye, England's Forgotten Heroine

The constable of Lincoln Castle for more than 50 years, Nicholaa faced down 3 sieges and was created sheriff of Lincolnshire in her own right. During the First Barons’ War, in the aftermath of Magna Carta, and following the death of King John, Nicholaa helped the great William Marshal defeat the rebel barons and send their French allies home. Acting ‘manfully’ and ‘without thinking of anything womanly,’ Nicholaa saved England.

Tickets are £5 per person. Capacity is limited and booking in advance is essential to secure your place. Complimentary tea and coffee are included.
